You simply cannot discuss classic women professional wrestling without discussing Mildred Burke. It was she who really established women's wrestling as a vital part of sports entertainment, and she had it all--the skills, the looks, the body, and the larger-than-life personality that make a star. In the 1950's, she started the World Women's Wrestling Association (WWWA), which was the first governing body specifically for women's wrestling. After she retired in 1956, she trained over 2,000 women who went on to compete in a variety of styles of matches. Many of them are the women featured on our vintage and classic tapes, DVDs, scrapbook and glamour girls photosets. Steel Kittens is also the proud owner of Mildred's personal training ring, and continues on with her legacy.

More classic professional women's wrestling silent film transfers from the Mildred Burke era. Mildred was responsible for the first invasion by many American pro girls onto Japanese shores. On this tape you’ll see Natasha, Cheryl Day, Sylvia Hackney, Jackie West, Sherri Lee and Sandy Starr, all of whom challenged the Women Warriors of the Orient in the 60s & 70s. There are some vicious battles on this tape--and even though they had no sound equipment, you can see the banging, punching, and drop-kicks and know these girls were well schooled in the art or professional wrestling.

Very Rare! In the late 60s & early 70s, Mildred Burke shot a series of completely n*de and t*pless matches in her indoor ring! These are incredibly unique in the history of classic professional women's wrestling. In fact, to our knowledge these "Star Films,” are the only nude matches done by pro girls that were ever filmed. Millie had a way with her girls! Prominently featured are two of Mildred's best pros, Casey Carr & Cheryl Day. Also featured in this series are Roselyn Royce and Spice Williams in two t*pless matches and Lynn Black and Gail Gardner facing each other and the pros.
